NEWS RELEASE

CRIME STOPPERS GUELPH WELLINGTON

Young’s Home Hardware is once again demonstrating its community support by hosting the highly anticipated Bucket Sale.

This year’s event, slated for Friday, Dec. 16 and Saturday, Dec. 17, is a once a year opportunity for customers to purchase a Home Hardware bucket and then use the bucket to carry their purchases. All items within the bucket qualify for a 20 per cent discount (some exceptions may apply). This year the buckets can be obtained for a $5 donation to Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington (CSGW). Store owner Marty Young said he was moved to support CSGW after learning through a community presentation that the program receives no support through government taxation.

“I don’t think most people are aware that Crime Stoppers doesn’t receive that type of funding,” said Young. “It made me appreciate the work that they do, and want to support them even more.”

The buckets will be available in the front entrance area and will be distributed by CSGW Board members and staff.

“We are so appreciative for the opportunity to work with the Young’s Home Hardware family once again,” said Sarah Bowers-Peter, program coordinator for CSGW. “They have been so generous and we look forward to greeting their customers with an offer to save money through the Bucket Sale.”

This is the second year Young’s Home Hardware has partnered with CSGW for the Bucket Sale. Last year more than $2,600 was raised by Mount Forest and area customers.

The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.
