Two buildings burn overnight

Guelph Fire Department responded to two serious fires early this morning, one at 604 Silvercreek Parkway North, and another at 7070 Fife Road.

Both fires are still under investigation

Fire at 604 Silvercreek Parkway North

On Dec 5/16 at 1:19:57 a.m. the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported fire at the above noted location.

On arrival units found a fully involved structure fire.

A defensive attack was used to quickly knock down the fire and an abandoned house close to the structure was protected using hand lines.

At the time of this report crews remain on scene knocking down hot spots.

There were no injuries to fire personnel.

The Fire Prevention Office is still on scene conducting their investigation.

Fire at 7070 Fife Road

On Dec. 5, 2016 at 3:36:16 a.m. the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported fire at the above noted location.

Units arrived at the scene and found a fully involved abandoned barn fire.

The roof had collapsed and most of the walls had fallen in prior to our arrival.

A defensive attack was used to knock down the remaining fire. A Tanker from the Puslinch Fire Department assisted with the initial water supply.

Crews remain on scene to knock down hot spots and Fire Prevention are also conducting their investigation.

There were no injuries to fire personnel.

The cause of the fire along with an estimate of damage is still under investigation.

The Guelph Fire Department would like to thank the OPP and Puslinch Fire for their assistance.
