Few details available, but Guelph Police tactical unit was on scene for several hours

Few details are available but a police incident on Elizabeth Street appears to have ended peacefully.

Guelph Police tactical unit and several cruisers arrived on Elizabeth Street between Huron Street and Duke Street at around 3 p.m., said onlookers.

The street was closed off and some people weren't able to access their homes as police dealt with the situation.

Around 6:15 p.m. a police cruiser left the scene with a lone male sitting in the rear of the car. Shortly after that an ambulance went to the house to check on a person inside and the situation appeared to be over.

Police have not released any details.

Elizabeth Street was still closed off around 7 p.m. but was expected to be open shortly.
