GUELPH FIRE DEPARTMENT

On Monday, December 9, 2019 at approximately 07:00hrs, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire in a covered garage at 457/467 Edinburgh Rd. South.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the covered garage. One person was overcome by smoke while attempting to extinguish the fire and subsequently was taken to hospital. Fire Department personnel extinguished the fire. Positive pressure fans were set up to remove the smoke from the garage area, no smoke entered either apartment.
The cause of the fire and an estimate of the damage as a result of this incident is unknown at the time of this media release.
A Fire Prevention Officer was called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause.
