FERGUS SCOTTISH FESTIVAL

Gie it laldy! The Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games is celebrating its 75th Anniversary 2.021 on the weekend of August 13 to 15, 2021.

This year, the Festival organizers have flexed their creative muscles to produce their second-ever virtual event. Encouraged by the very well-received 2020 Wee Digital Ceilidh, they are pleased to present the Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 GO. It is going to be a real belter, bringing the best the Festival has to offer and promoting the four pillars of any Highland Games: Heavy Events, Highland Dance, Clans and Heritage, and Pipes and Drums. The event will also spotlight all-time favourite performers, the popular McKiddies area, a whisky tasting, unique videos, tours, lessons, and interviews.

The 2nd annual Paint the Town Tartan decorating contest is taking place once more in 2021. Residents and businesses of Centre Wellington can channel their inner Scot to decorate their homes and premises with tartan and a wee bit of everything Scottish. Categories are Best Tartan Home, Best Tartan Business, and Most Creative Youth. Registration is available online now, and there will be prizes!

To mark the Festival’s 75th Anniversary, the organizers are thrilled to announce a special event to take place Thursday, August 12. The 75th Gala 2 Go is a ticketed event with guests receiving a night of Festival grandeur, featuring a whisky appreciation and a variety of exceptional entertainment. Included in the ticket is a Gala 2 Go box stuffed with savoury nibbles, limited edition 75th Anniversary scotch glasses, and all the accessories to complement the evening program.

Despite the cancellation of the live event, Festival organizers promise that the 2021 activities and the Wee Digital Ceilidh 2 Go will have a stellar, modern spin on the traditional event. With a sporran full of surprises, this year will bring guests the sights and sounds of the Festival and Scotland — without the airfare!

Details and announcements will be posted on the website at www.fergusscottishfestival.com and via Festival social media channels.

The Festival wishes to thank sponsors and supporters, including the Government of Ontario, Canadian Government, Regional Tourism Organization 4, Township of Centre Wellington, OLG, and Your Hometown
