NEWS RELEASE
CONCERNED RESIDENTS COALITION
*************************
The dedicated volunteers of the Concerned Residents Coalition (CRC) are creating their first annual Outdoor Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market will pop up at the heritage Walnut Tree and Critter Farm at 4970 7th Line, Eramosa, just north off Highway 7 between Rockwood and Acton. The market will be fun for the whole family.

Market merchandise will include hand-crafted Christmas decorations, wreaths, urns and more, as well as vintage decorations, gift items baked goods and fudge. Children will have a special holiday workshop where they will make crafts and decorate their own cookies. Adults will enjoy treats too, including the warm homemade cinnamon buns made famous at CRC’s garage sales.

This beef cattle farm is dramatically set, just north of the proposed Hidden Quarry site, framed by forests and rich with the ponds and wetlands which feed the Brydson Creek Tributary bisecting the quarry site on its way to the cold, clear Blue Springs Creek. The stone house was built in 1863 and the bank barn, still in use, in mid-19th-century.

Funds raised will support the Concerned Residents Coalition in its efforts to bring scientific and legal expertise to the OMB where CRC is a party to the 2018 hearing on the Hidden Quarry application submitted by James Dick Construction Limited. The proposed quarry would be located in the Paris-Galt Moraine in the heart of an agricultural area at the intersection of Highway 7 and 5th Line Eramosa. This is just 1000 metres from the Town of Rockwood and at the top of the Grand River watershed.
