Water service leak downtown (Updated)

Repairs will begin on Friday morning but the leak is not affecting residents or businesses

Dec. 29 update

A southbound lane reduction is in place as crews work to repair yesterday’s water service leak near 88 Wyndham Street in downtown Guelph. The southbound curb lane on Wyndham Street approaching St. George’s Square is closed. The southbound centre lane remains open, and all northbound lanes remain open. Street parking in the area is affected.

A water service leak under the sidewalk near 88 Wyndham Street in downtown Guelph has been cordoned off until repairs can begin tomorrow morning. Water from the leak is flowing to the curb and gutter and the area will be barricaded.  Water is currently being supplied to businesses and homes without interruption.

Repairs on the leak will begin tomorrow – Friday, Dec. 29 – at approximately 7 a.m. A partial road closure is anticipated during repairs.

Traffic and transit impacts

  • None at this time. A partial road closure is expected tomorrow while repair is underway.

The City will provide updates on guelph.ca and on Facebook (facebook.com/cityofguelph) and Twitter (twitter.com/cityofguelph) should anything change, or once repairs are complete.
