Guelph Farmers’ Market

Aberfoyle Farmers Market
Puslinch Optimist Recreation Centre - 23 Brock Rd. S., Aberfoyle; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Puslinch’s farmers’ market with locally grown and handmade products.
Eramosa River trail parkrun
Eramosa River Trail; 9 a.m.
Take part in a free timed 5K walk or run. It begins just east of the covered wooden bridge near The Boathouse. More info here.
National Mini Forest Project tree planting
York Road Park; 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Guelph is starting its first mini forest. It is one of five cities in Canada participating in the pilot project. Those participating will learn the Japanese Miyawaki method of tree planting. All are welcome, and all tools will be provided. More info and registration can be found here.
Praise The Ward

Friends of the Guelph Public Library Book Sale
69 Huron St.; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friends of the Guelph Public Library is back with its 15th annual book sale. Books in both fiction and non-fiction will be available, along with children’s items and media. Free to attend. More info here.
Elora Fergus Studio Tour
Various locations; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Take a self-guided tour around Elora and Fergus’ art studios, talk with artists. There will also be art demonstrations. Free event. More info here.
Downtown Dog Promenade
Downtown Guelph; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Downtown Guelph is going to the dogs! This free event is the first of what officials hope to be an annual event. Donations are welcome in support of the Guelph Humane Society. More info here.
Wellington County Multicultural Festival
Wellington County Museum and Archives, 0536 Wellington Rd 18, Fergus; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Part of Ontario Culture Days, this family-friendly festival features performances, food, music and kids activities. More info here.
Gryphon Homecoming game
Alumni Stadium; 1 p.m.
U of G’s annual Homecoming celebration takes place, with the Gryphons hosting York in OUA football action. Halftime performance by up-and-coming country artist Owen Riegling.
Safe Families car show and BBQ
Crestwicke Baptist Church, 400 Speedvale Ave. E.; 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A free car show for the late afternoon, with activities available for all ages. There will also be a BBQ, with proceeds from the BBQ going towards Safe Families Guelph-Wellington.
A Concert with Addy-tude
Elora Centre for the Arts MacDonald Pavilion - 74 Melville St., Elora; 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Riverfest and Team Addy team up for a benefit concert going towards sarcoma research at Sick Kids. Performing artists are: Monowhales, Stacey Kay, Georgia Harmer and Lauren Roy.
The Enchanted Forest of Fergus
Centre Wellington Sportsplex Forest - 550 Belsyde Ave. E., Fergus; 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
A whimsical event that transforms a forest into a mythical world of handmade art, music and magic. Will feature performances by the Toronto String Quartet, The Vaudevillian and aerial artists.
OHL preseason hockey

Guelph Storm host the Brantford Bulldogs in its final tune-up game before the regular season begins.

Pace for the Donkeys 5K Trail Run
The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, Puslinch; 10 a.m.
A 5K trail run through the trails of the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada. Registration fee $40.

A free fundraising event for families, and their furry best friends. Partake in the bake sale, as well as the silent auction, 50/50 draw and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit Physciatric Service Dogs. More info here.

Riverside Park picnic shelter; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Complete the sentence 'Creativity is..." with a single word at this unique art event. Join artist Mary Kroetsch for a chat, and create a piece of art using that single word, which they say will provide inspiration for a future installation at the Guelph Civic Museum. Free event. More info here.
The Great Escape Fall Fair
The Elliott Community, 170 Metcalfe St.; 11:30 a.m.
The ticketed event gets you access to live music, a BBQ, a petting zoo, pony rides, food and more. Proceeds from the event will help purchase new equipment to support quality of care at the home. More info here.
