Wellington County Back Roads (23 Photos)

Monday morning country drive

Sunny Monday morning, about four degrees and rising.

The back roads of Wellington County, just north of Guelph, begin to light up.

The farmlands are mostly resting now, except those meadowlands populated with cattle, horses, and the occasional herd of goats. The harvest is all in.

Some farmers are still finishing up their manure applications. And a final cut of hay is down in some fields.

What one notices during an early morning drive out of Guelph is the heavy traffic that is coming into the city from every direction.

Guelph is an employment center, with lots of jobs on offer, and the lowest unemployment rate in the country. Those back roads are picturesque, but busy.

At any time of the year, this part of Ontario is bustling.
