Window Shopping: A photo gallery by Rob O'Flanagan (27 photos)

Window displays in the downtown visually rich and enticing

Shop window displays are intended to attract the passerby, to grab the attention and draw the perspective shopper closer, and maybe through the door.

Retail windows are visually fascinating for the craft and design (or lack of them) that goes into the display. For a photographer, they are especially enticing when superimposed with reflections of the surrounding buildings, people and sky.

A window shopping stroll through downtown Guelph over the weekend, under overcast skies and shifting reflections, turned up an exciting assortment of window dressings – from the soft to the edgy, from the sophisticated to the weird, from the thoughtful to the hasty.

There are a diversity of perspectives and breadth of retail enticements out there.
