Members of the Guelph Symphony Orchestra will bring a classic tale to life during kid-friendly performances of Little Red Riding Hood at River Run Centre on Saturday, February 27, at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The 30-minute performances take place in the intimate setting of the Co-operators Hall and are presented as part of the Wooly Kinderconcerts series.

The Wooly Kinderconcerts introduce children aged five and under to the rich variety of instruments and sounds of the orchestra.

Members of the symphony play samplings of works by great composers, which provide the soundtrack for fun, interactive stories.

Musicians will bring the sounds of the forest to life as Little Red Riding Hood makes her way to grandma's house.

Five different instruments will be featured in the performance: the flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon create the sounds of woodland creatures, while the French horn represents the Big Bad Wolf.

Amy di Nino narrates the performance, which will feature the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev.

Tickets to see Little Red Riding Hood cost $14 for adults and $11 for children 14 and under. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.

Please note that everyone attending this performance must have a ticket, including infants and children.

Tickets can be purchased at River Run Centre box office, 35 Woolwich St. in Guelph, by calling 519-763-3000, or online at riverrun.ca/little-red-riding-hood/.
