The Centennial Spartans fell just short of gold at the OFSAA AAA girls hockey championship tournament in Stratford on Wednesday.
Centennial lost the gold medal game 3-0 to Lawrence Park Collegiate of Toronto.
The Guelph team, which entered the 16-team tournament as the top seed, beat Cobourg high school 4-3 earlier in the day in the semifinal.
Centennial had two wins and a tie in round-robin action: they beat Glebe CI 3-1, battled Bishop Tonnos to a 3-3 tie and beat St. Anne 4-2.
