Givani Smith works his magic in Ottawa

The Guelph Storm scored five unanswered goals, three of them in the third period, Saturday afternoon to down the Ottawa 67's 5-2.

After falling behind 2-0 late in the second period,

Liam Stevens and Givani Smith scored nine seconds apart before the middle frame ended to make it 2-2 heading into the third.

Smith scored the winner just 41 seconds into the third. Garrett McFadden's power play goal at 12:57 gave the team some nsurance and Dmitri Samorukov's empty netter iced it.

Isaac Ratcliffe had three assists in the game and Liam Herbst made 29 saves against his old team.

Guelph native Austen Keating had an assist for the 67's, who got goals from Sasha Chmelevski and Drake Rymsha.

Noah Carroll and Jake Bricknell were healthy scratches for Guelph, with Nick Deakin-Poot and Luke Moncada getting in the lineup, along with Quinn Hanna.

Guelph plays in Kingston Sunday afternoon.

Next home game is Friday when they host Ottawa.
