NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
******************************

The Guelph Minor Hockey Association is proud and excited to announce our AAA Coaches for the 2023/24 season.

After a thorough process of reviewing many applications and having our candidates interviewed by a third-party panel of non-GMHA board members with expertise in coaching and hockey performance; leadership development; and high performance of athletes GMHA is excited to announce the following appointments to the following AAA teams:

- U18AAA – Andy Hyvarinen
- U16AAA – Dane Horvat
- U15AAA – Keith Schultz
- U14AAA – Russell Kennedy
- U13AAA – James Prigione
- U12AAA – Jesse Longo
- U11AAA – Brad Watson
- U10AAA – Ryan Spiegelhalter

“We are committed to the development of our AAA program,” said GMHA Director of AAA, David Belliveau. “Of the eight appointed AAA head coaches, seven are non-parents which is very exciting. All of our coaches come with a wealth of experience in coaching hockey at a high-level and we are very much looking forward to the development of our athletes and our teams. It remains our goal to ensure Guelph is a hockey centre that is developing highly respected athletes both on and off the ice; and we believe that begins with ensuring we have a great team of AAA coaches.”

GMHA is one of the largest hockey associations in Guelph and surrounding area with approximately 1,450 players across 32 representative teams, six select teams, and 51 house league teams. GMHA employs one full-time staff, two part-time staff with leadership being provided by a board of directors consisting of 14 members.

GMHA would like to congratulate each of the successful candidates and thank each applicant for their interest in being part of GMHA.
