Gryphon hockey women win ninth straight

Four different scorers make the scoresheet as Gryphons continue winning ways

The top-ranked Guelph Gryphons won for the ninth straight time Saturday, downing the Laurentian Voyageurs 4-1 at the Gryphon Centre.

Valeri Lamenta made 25 saves in the Guelph net and was two minutes away from a shutout when the Voyageurs ruined it.

Sophie Contant, Leigh Shilton, Averi Nooren and Jessica Pinkerton had the Guelph goals, the latter into an empty net.

Guelph hosts Nippissing Sunday at 2 p.m. then wraps up the regular season with a game at Brock next Saturday.
