The University of Guelph Gryphons women's hockey team will be going for their first OUA title since 1998 Saturday, March 12, when they host the final in a 2 p.m. game at the Gryphon centre.
A 2-1 overtime win over the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks Friday night gave the Gryphs a 2-0 win in the best-of-three semifinal. The win also guarantees Guelph a spot in the national championships to be held in Calgary March 17 to March 20.
Friday, Laurier went up 1-0 in the second period before
Katherine Bailey tied the game in the third, setting up a goal by Kaitlin Lowy eight minutes into overtime.
