Gryphon women qualify for curling nationals

Beat Western 7-4 in Monday's OUA bronze medal game to qualify for CIS championships

The University of Guelph Gryphons women's curling team won bronze Monday at the OUA curling championships held at the Guelph Curling Club.

That qualifies them for the CIS championships March 20 to March 23 in Kelowna. Guelph defeated Western 7-4 in the bronze medal game.

Wilfrid Laurier captured gold on both the men and women's sides.

Jacinda Schieck of the Gryphons was named to the OUA second all-star team and Gryphs men's coach Matt Wilkinson was named OUA coach of the year.
