HAMILTON – The Guelph Gryphons playoff hopes took a key turn for the better Saturday as the locals came up with a 21-13 road win over the McMaster Marauders.
Guelph is now 2-2 on the season, tied for fourth with Ottawa, who have played one less game.
The Gryphons host the 0-4 York Lions this Saturday for Homecoming.
Guelph got touchdowns on a five-yard run by quarterback Marshall McCray in the second quarter and a nine-yard touchdown pass from Tristan Aboud to Vyshonne Janusas in the fourth quarter. Gabriel Canabrava kicked field goals of 39 and 17 yards. He also kicked a single point.
Guelph's Donavin Milloy rushed for 106 yards on 11 carries. On defence, Jevaun Jacobsen had nine solo tackes and an interception.
