Gryphons finish fourth at nationals

Fall 3-1 to St. Mary's in bronze medal game

The University of Guelph Gryphons finished fourth at the CIS national championships in Calgary after losing the bronze medal game 3-1 to the St. Mary's Huskies on Sunday.

The day before the Gryphs lost the semifinals 2-1 in an eight-round shootout to the University of British Columbia.

Christine Grant had the Gryphons lone goal, making it a 2-1 game with 3:25 left in regulation, but the Huskies iced the game with an empty-netter with 24 seconds left on the clock.
