Gryphons run over Blues to end regular season on winning note

Will host Carleton Ravens to open playoffs Oct. 26

TORONTO — The Guelph Gryphons rushed for 365 yards at Varsity Stadium in Toronto Saturday on their way to a 40-26 win over the University of Toronto Blues.

Guelph will now host the Carleton Ravens on Oct. 26 in an OUA quarter-final match-up. Guelph beat Carleton 37-20 in the regular season.

Three Gryphons ran for over 100 yards: Kwame Osei (129), Juwan Jeffrey (117) and quarterback Theo Landers (113).

Landers ran for two touchdowns, Jeffrey ran one in and Clark Barnes also ran one in. Landers also connected with A.J. Chase for a passing touchdown.

In total, Guelph racked up 623 yards in total offence.

Leading receiver was Kade Belyk with seven catches for 109 yards.

The Gryphon defence sacked Blues quarterback Clay Sequeira four times and Dokun Aketepe had an inteception.
