The Gryphons men's hockey team was eliminated from the OUA playoffs Sunday with a 5-1 loss to the Western Mustangs, but they still get another shot at advancing to the national championship tournament in Halifax.

Guelph will gravel to Ottawa on Saturday to face the Carleton Ravens in the OUA bronze medal game. The winner goes to Halifax.

Sunday's game was delayed over an hour because the OUA women's game between Western and Nippissing played prior the men's game went to three overtimes.

Western scored once in the first period and once in the second to take a 2-0 lead in to the third period.

After the Mustangs made it 3-0, Brett Appio finally got Guelph on the board, but Western's Alex Micallef restored the two-goal lead shortly after, then another power play goal by Western made it 5-1.

Guelph went 0-for-6 on the power play.
