The Guelph Nighthawks are now 1-1 on the season following a 95-84 loss to the Niagara River Lions in Canadian Elite Basketball action Tuesday night at the Sleeman Centre.
Niagara's Khalil Ahmad led all scorers with 33 points on an 11 of 16 shooting performance.
Cat Barber led the Nighthhawks with 29 points.
Niagara owned the glass, outrebounding Guelph by a 44-27 margin, helping them shoot 49 per cent from the field.
Guelph hit just seven of 24 three point attempts.
Niagara got 29 contributed off the bench while Guelph had 19.
The announced attendance was 720.
Guelph plays in Hamilton Thursday, Montreal Sunday then returns home to host Ottawa on Thursday, June 9.
