The Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Summer Series tournament will start July 25.

Seven of the 26 games will be broadcast on CBC and online with the remaining 21 games being broadcast online.

The league’s seven teams, including the Guelph Nighthawks, will play their games at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.

The tournament wraps up Aug. 29.

The Nighthawks will be part of a doubleheader broadcast on CBC television on Saturday, July 25 when they take on the expansion Ottawa BlackJacks starting at 3:50 p.m.

The tournament’s semifinals will be broadcast on CBC television on Aug. 8, as will the final the next day.

In the CEBL Summer Series each club will play the other once in a round robin competition. The team with the worst record will be eliminated and the remaining six will be seeded into a bracket. The third and sixth seeds, and the fourth and fifth seeds, will face each other for the right to advance to the semifinals against the first and second-seeded teams.

While staying in St. Catharines the teams will be separated from the general public, and strict screening and COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to under the supervision of medical officials. Extensive health and safety measures will be maintained for the participants, including social distancing and other specialized practices designed to limit interactions amongst participants.
