Guelph Nighthawks win first ever game

Will play their home opener Saturday night at the Sleeman Centre

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - The Guelph Nighthawks kicked off their inaugral Canadian Elite Basketball League season with a win Thursday night.

Guelph beat the Fraser Valley Bandits 106-103.

Twitter posts from the team said the Nighthawks trailed 77-75 after the third quarter and were up 53-50 at halftime.

No other details were available.

Statistics from the game were not available nor was the score posted on the team or league web site by mid-morning Friday.

The Nighthawks play their home opener Saturday, May 11, at the Sleeman Centre against the Edmonton Stingers. Game time is 7 p.m.
