The Guelph Royals will try and keep their season alive Tuesday night at Hastings Stadium when they face the London Majors in Game 4 of their opening round playoff series.

Guelph trails the best-of-seven Intercounty Baseball League series 3-0 after losses Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

London finished first in the regular season, Guelph last.

The Majors downed Guelph 8-5 Sunday night in London, 10-0 in Guelph on Saturday and 9-4 in London on Sunday.

Sunday's game was a tight affair until London scored four times in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 4-3 lead. Matt Schmidt and Keegan Marsden hit homers for Guelph in the losing cause and Daniel Marquez took the loss on the mound.

On Saturday, Guelph starter Marc-Andre Major lasted just one and a third innings and the Royals made four errors, leading to four unearned Majors runs. Offensively Guelph managed just five hits.

Friday the Royals managed 10 hits, but left 11 runners on base and three different pitchers allowed 13 London hits, plus five walks, in the series-opening defeat.

Game 5, if necessary, would be Thursday night in London.
