The Guelph Royals season opener that was supposed to happen on Saturday has been put on hold.

The Royals were supposed to open their season against the Hamilton Cardinals but the city has closed sports fields until they recover from the excessive amount of rainfall Guelph has recently experienced.

Guelph is supposed to play in London on Sunday and according to the league web site that game is still on.

Any postponed games will be rescheduled.

The Royals home opener is now set for Hastings Stadium Saturday, May 20 versus the London Majors. First pitch set for 2 p.m.
