Guelph Royals win big Friday in Hamilton

Newcomer Toure Sinclair tallies seven RBIs in first game

The Guelph Royals clubbed five homers en route to a 17-4 drubbing of the Hamilton Cardinals in Hamilton Friday night.

Guelph hosts the Brantford Red Sox Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hastings Stadium.

Friday, newcomer Toure Sinclair went 5-for-6 in his Inter-County Baseball League debut with a pair of homers and seven RBIs. Chandler McLaren also hit two long balls and Aaron Loder hit one as the Royals pounded out 21 hits.

Richard Gill earned the win on the mound, giving up four runs on seven hits in five innings of work.

Brendan O'Flynn had four hits, Loder and McLaren three each.

Guelph is now 2-4 on the season.
