Guelph Storm acquires defenceman from Sarnia

The Guelph Storm has picked up 18-year-old defenceman Alex Hogue from the Sarnia Sting in a trade.

In return Sarnia gets a conditional 15th round draft pick.

Hogue had not reported to the Sarnia training camp this year.

Hogue was a second round pick of the Sting in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection. He was the 13th defenceman drafted that year.

Hogue, 5'8", 185lbs. had two assists in 30 games in his first season with Sarnia. Last season he had five goals, six assists in 55 games and was a minus-22. He spent some of the season playing forward.

In his draft year he had 47 points in 45 games and was considered one of the better offensive defencemen in the draft.

Hogue, who hails from the Ottawa area, shoots left.
