Guelph Storm can't hold on in the third

The Guelph Storm took a 2-1 lead into the third period but couldn't hold on as they fell 5-3 to the Erie Otters Saturday night.

Erie took the 1-0 lead with the lone goal of the first period, a slap shot by defeneman Erik Cernak.

Matt Hotchkiss and Givan Smith, a shorthanded effort that was his 21st of the season, put Guelph up 2-1 with second period goals.

Alex DeBrincat tied the game with his 49th of the year at 3:39 of the third, then 2:24 later Ryan Strome tied things up.

A goal by Liam Stevens gave Guelph the lead with 9:35 on the clock, but Darren Raddysh scored what would stand up as the winning goal at 17:42 of the third.
