WINDSOR - The Windsor Spitfires scored three unanswered goals in the third period to hand the Guelph Storm a 3-1 loss in Windsor Saturday night.
Ryan Merkley’s 10th goal of the season put the Storm up 1-0 at the 10:24 mark of the second period, but a weak backhand from a bad angle by Mihkail Sergachev beat Storm goaltender Anthony Popovich 5:51 into the third period to tie things up.
Jeremiah Addison scored at 10:08 of the third to put Windsor up 2-1 then Luke Boka made it 3-1 late in the game.
Windsor outshot Guelph 31-16.
Guelph will host the Flint Firebirds Monday afternoon at 2 p.m.
