Guelph Storm enters break on three-game winning streak

Last game before the Christmas break is an 8-5 win in Oshawa

OSHAWA - Liam Hawel and Keegan Stevenson each scored twice to pace the Guelph Storm to an 8-5 win over the Oshawa Generals Sunday.

The win was Guelph's third of the weekend as they enter the Christmas break tied for third place in the Western Conference standings with the Owen Sound Attack.

Alexey Toropchenko had a goal and three assists for the Storm. He was also a plus-6 on the night.

Owen Lalonde, Pavel Gogolev and Nate Schnarr had the other Guelph goals. Nico Daws made 38 saves between the pipes.

Guelph led 3-1 after one period and 5-3 after two.

Next game for Guelph is Dec. 28 when the Hamilton Bulldogs visit the Sleeman Centre.
