Guelph Storm falters in the third against Owen Sound

Allows three unanswered goals in the third

OWEN SOUND – The Owen Sound Attack scored three unanswered goals in the third period to down the Guelph Storm 5-2 Wednesday night.

Petrus Palmu, Nich Pryce and Nick Suzuki, into the empty net, provided the third period markers.

Maksim Sushko’s goal, one of two shorthanded goals the Attack had on the night, put the home side up 1-0 after 20 minutes and Zachary Roberts’ goal early in the second had the home side up 2-0.

The Storm responded with goals by Matt Hotchkiss, on the power play, and Albert Michnac, fresh off a two-game suspension, to tie the game 2-2 heading into the third. James McEwan assisted on both of those goals.

Anthony Popovich made 36 saves in the Storm net and Michael McNiven had 30 for Owen Sound.

Guelph went one for five on the power play, Owen Sound scoreless in five attempts.

The Storm will host the Attack on Friday night. Sunday the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds are in town.
