Guelph Storm gets its first win of the season

OWEN SOUND – Braeden Bowman and Marko Sikic each scored twice and rookie Jacob Oster won his first OHL start as the Guelph Storm downed the Owen Sound Attack 7-3 in Owen Sound Wednesday night.

Oster faced 23 shots in the game. Guelph fired 51 shots at Attack netminder Mack Guzda.

Despite falling behind 1-0 early, Guelph led 3-1 after the first period and 5-2 after two.

Matt Papais, Daniil Chayka and Matt Poitras had the other Guelph goals.

Michael Buchinger and Jake Karabela each had three assists.

The lone sour note in the game for the Storm was losing defenceman Luka Profaca to a leg injury.

Guelph will host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Friday night.
