Guelph Storm goaltender was drafted by the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.

Daws was taken with the 22nd pick of the third round, 84th overall, on the second day of the seven-round draft.

He was the sixth goaltender chosen but the first Canadian goaltender.

The six-foot-four, 200-pound Burlington native had a breakthrough season in 2019-20, his third with the Storm.

Daws was named the OHL's goaltender of the year, finishing with a 2.48 goals-against average and .924 save percentage.

He was an OHL first team all-star and was a member of the national junior team.

Daws was the top ranked North American goaltender by NHL Central Scouting.

Several other Storm players are eligible to be drafted in the seven-round NHL draft that concludes today, notably 45-goal scorer Pavel Gogolev, winger Andrei Bakanov, defenceman Luka Profaca and goaltender Owen Bennett.
