The Guelph Storm chose Tag Bertuzzi in the first round of the OHL Priority Selection Draft on Saturday.

Tag is the son of former Storm and National Hockey League star Todd Bertuzzi and the cousin of former Storm star Tyler Bertuzzi.

Guelph had the second overall pick in the draft. On Friday the Barrie Colts made Ryan Suzuki the first overall pick.

Bertuzzi played last year for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U team in Michigan. He had 21 goals and 29 assists in 49 games. He also had 85 penalty minutes.

A centre, he is listed as 6-foot-1, 190 pounds.

His father Todd played 258 games in a Storm uniform from 1991 to 1995, amassing 325 points. His cousin Tyler played 239 games in Guelph from 2011 to 2015, tallying 198 points.

The online draft continues throughout Saturday. Guelph has the first pick of the second round and three picks in the third round. They have 15 in total in the 15-round draft.

More to come.
