The Gueph Storm didn't make any significant moves at the Ontario Hockey Trade deadline on Tuesday.
Despite lots of activity around the league, the only transaction by the noon deadline by Guelph was trading the rights of Jake Bricknell to the Peterborough Petes for a 15th round draft pick.
"I had maybe 50 or 60 discussions over the past week, but nothing came to fruition," Storm general manager Mike Kelly said.
The team did add a player Tuesday, bringing in 2015 9th round pick Nolan Makkanen.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound right-shooting defenceman had been playing tier II hockey in Sault Ste. Marie, MI., where he had four points this season.
The Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., native flew into Toronto Tuesday morning but his equipment never arrived, so he was scrambling to patch together some gear in time for Tuesday's practice at the West End Community Centre.
Bricknell and the Storm parted ways two weeks ago and he is playing tier II hockey. The move allows Peterborough to call him up on an emergency basis if needed.
Guelph plays in Owen Sound on Wednesday. They host Owen Sound Friday.
