The Guelph Storm has named an assistant general manager.

Phil Golding, who has held several positions within the organization over the past few years, will be the assistant GM to new general manager/coach George Burnett.

The team also announced that assistant coaches Todd Harvey and Luca Caputi will be remaining with the team, as will goaltending coach Matt Smith.

Golding joined the Storm organization in 2007 after graduating from Brock University's sport management program.

He has spent 10 years working in the team's business operations department and for the past two seasons has done some scouting with the team. He also served as assistant to the GM last season.

“Phil will be involved in all aspects of hockey operations, including administration, scouting and player development," said Burnett in a news release. “He has been a great asset for me during the transition to Guelph and I look forward to working closely with him as we prepare for the new season.”

Harvey has been with the Storm for the past four seasons, Caputi two.

Smith enters his sixth season as the club’s goaltending coach.
