Guelph Storm suffers third period meltdown

BARRIE - The Guelph Storm fell apart in the third period Saturday night in Barrie.

The Barrie Colts scored six unanswered goals in the final period to down the Storm 8-2.

After Zach Poirier had tied the game 2-2 early in the third, the Colts scored five goals in a span of 4:24 to blow the game open.

To make matters worse, Storm forward Cam Hillis was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for a slew foot in that third period and faces an automatic two-game suspension.

Isaac Ratcliffe had Guelph's other goal.

Nico Daws faced 52 shots in the Storm net.

Gueph plays in North Bay Sunday afternoon.
