The Guelph Storm will be honouring one of its all-time greats this season when it raises Ryan Callahan's number 24 to the rafters.

Callahan will be honoured in a pre-game ceremony prior to a game against the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m.

His number 24 will join Jeff O'Neill's 92 and Todd Bertuzzi's 44 as honoured numbers above the ice, along with the only officially retired number by the Guelph Storm, the 18 worn by the late Paul Fendley as a member of the Guelph CMCs.

Callahan scored a franchise-record 130 regular season goals in his four years with the Storm, including 52 goals in the 2005-2006 season. He scored another 21 goals in the playoffs.

He played a combined 299 games in a Storm jersey after being taken in the 15th round of the 2001 OHL draft.

Drafted in the fourth round of the NHL draft by the New York Rangers, he went on to play 878 NHL games with New York and Tampa Bay.
