Guelph Storm wraps up solid road trip with overtime win

OTTAWA – Cam Hillis scored twice, including the winner in overtime, as the Guelph Storm wrapped up its Eastern Ontario road trip with a 5-4 win over the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday afternoon.

Hillis’s game-winner, with 1:33 left in overtime, came on the power play.

Ottawa had scored two goals in the third period to take a 4-3 lead, but with the goaltender pulled the Storm’s Ryan Merkley tied the game with 1:41 left in regulation. Merkley also had two assists in the game.

Zach Poirier and Owen Lalonde, with his first of the year, had the other Guelph goals.

Guelph will host the Windsor Spitfires on Friday at the Sleeman Centre then play in Kitchener on Sunday.
