Struggling squad now in seventh place in the Western Conference

FLINT, MI. — The Guelph Storm's losing streak continued Saturday night with a 4-1 loss to the Flint Firebirds.

It was the team's ninth loss in a row.

The team that was in first place at the Christmas break will head to London for a game Sunday afternoon in seventh place in the Western Conference.

They are just two points ahead of eighth-place Erie and four points up on ninth-place Sault Ste. Marie.

Flint led 1-0 after one period, 2-0 after two and went up 3-0 in the third before Guelph's Ben McFarlane scored a shorthanded breakaway goal to make it 3-1.

The Firebirds added an empty netter to seal the win.

Owen Bennett started in net for Guelph and played well, allowing three goals on 29 shots.

Ty Dellandrea led Flint with a pair of goals.
