Local firefighters are tagging a wrestling promotion to help raise money for hospitals in the area.

Great White North Wrestling is partnering with the Guelph Firefighters Benevolent Foundation to hold an event called 'INFERNO!' on April 15.

The Saturday show will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 234 at 57 Watson Pkwy. S.

The benevolent foundation is a non-profit that raises funds for community organizations. A representative said it means a lot to them to help out however they can.

"Us, as the fire department, we respond to a lot of calls in the city. We see people on their worst days, and the hospital is vital for people," they said.

"We take people there all the time, alongside the EMS crews, and we see the hard work that the nurses and the doctors do in those hospitals, so anything we can do to support and help them out is always great."

It's expected to be a three-hour independent wrestling show, including an intermission.

There will be food and drinks available to purchase.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online for $15, or at the door for $20, while quantities last.
