Hurricanes blow away Siskins with big third period

Guelph two points back of third place with two games left in regular season

Ryan Burns scored twice and added an assist as the Guelph Hurricanes downed the Waterloo Siskins 5-1 at the Sleeman Centre Saturday night.

Guelph scored three unanswered goals in the third period to blow open a close game.

With two games left in the regular season the Canes sit in fourth place in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League's Midwestern Conference, two points back of third place Listowel.

Cameron Stokes had a goal and two assists, Dylan Wallace and Cameron Palmer had the other goals for Guelph. Nicholas Bird and Brody Milne each had two helpers.

Christian Propp made 19 saves to earn the win in net.

Guelph plays in Stratford on Friday then wraps up the regular season with a home game against Kitchener on Saturday.
