Cameron Palmer's goal at 7:23 of overtime to lift the Guelph Hurricanes to a 2-1 win over the Elmira Sugar Kings in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series.

Game 2 in the best-of-seven series goes Sunday in Elmira. Game 3 is Tuesday in Guelph.

Guelph trailed 1-0 heading into the third period before Cameron Stokes scored at 3:08, assisted by Chris Poletek, to tie it up. Stokes would have a chance to add to the lead five minutes later but missed on a penalty shot.

Jason DaSilva made 23 saves in the Gueph net to earn the victory.
