The John F. Ross Royals capped off a remarkable season by capturing the OFSAA AAA girls rugby crown in Ottawa on Wednesday.
The third-seeded Royals defeated top-seeded Oakville Trafalgar 27-19 in the gold medal match.
Emily Frasson scored a pair of tries in the gold medal game and Jordie Newmann and Jasmine Ing added single tries. Ing also had a convert.
Guelph led 15-12 at halftime.
The Guelph squad opened the tournament with a 35-0 win over the 14th-ranked Christ The King on Monday.
Tuesday they beat sixth-ranked Cardinal Newman 45-19 and then seventh-ranked St. Roch Catholic School 26-12.
