Local modern pentathlete Jonathan Denoon hit the podium at an international competition in Florida.
Denoon and his partner Kelly Fitzsimmons finished third at the 2016 International Union of Modern Pentathlon Biathle-Triathle World Championships in Sarasota on the weekend.
They were competing in the mixed relay-senior triathle division, which includes running 3.2 kilometres, swimming 200 metres and four rounds of shooting from a range of 10 metres.
Denoon and Fitzsimmons finished just over a minute behind the silver medalists from Italy and three minutes behind the winning team from the United States.
More than 500 athletes from 25 countries took part in the event, ranging from youth (8 and under) to masters.
