ERIE – Braeden Bowman's highlight reel goal in the second period proved to be the difference Saturday night as the Guelph Storm downed the Erie Otters 3-2 in Erie.

Bowman, who missed almost a month with a lower body injury before returning this week, sliced between four Otters players before firing a wrist shot past goaltender Nolan Lalonde to break a 2-2 tie.

After that it was penalty killing and goaltender Jacob Oster taking over for Guelph.

Guelph killed off a minor and a five minute major in the final 10 minutes and Oster made some huge saves, including a breakaway save with 30 seconds left in the game.

The major was a slew foot call on Ben McFarlane, who was also ejected from the game.

Matt Poitras and Danny Zhilkin had the other Storm goals.

The same two teams play at the Sleeman Centre Sunday afternoon starting at 2 p.m.
