SUDBURY – Garrett McFadden scored a pair of goals, including the game winner at 1:16 of overtime, to lead the Guelph Storm to a 4-3 victory over the Sudbury Wolves Friday night.
The win gives the Storm a season-high three game winning streak. They will try and make it four in a row Saturday afternoon in Sault Ste. Marie against the Greyhounds.
Guelph led 2-0 after one period on goals by Nic Sicoly and McFadden.
It was 3-2 Storm after two periods, with Givani Smith netting Guelph’s third marker.
The Wolves tied the game at 6:56 of the third on a goal by Ryan Valentin.
Anthony Popovich made 40 saves in net for the Storm and Ryan Merkley assisted on two of the Guelph goals.
After Saturday’s game in the Soo the Storm returns home to face the Kitchener Rangers on Tuesday night.
