LONDON – The University of Guelph Gryphons saw their football season come to an end Saturday with a 33-12 loss to the Western Mustangs in OUA semifinal action.

The Gryphon offence struggled to get on track all game, with the pass-heavy Gryphons held to just 166 yards through the air. Three different Guelph quarterbacks used in the game (starter Shawn Lal was injured late in the game) were sacked a combined five times by the Mustangs.

All of Guelph's points came on four field goals by Eric Stranz, including a pair from 47 yards.

Guelph did manage 121 yards on the ground, led by Jeremie Kankolongo's 60 yards on 15 carries.
