The Guelph Royals tumbled into seventh place in the Intercounty Baseball League standings with a pair of close losses on the weekend.
On Saturday they fell 4-2 to the London Majors at Hastings Stadium and on Sunday lost 8-6 to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Christie Pits.
In Toronto Sunday, the Maple Leafs scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull out the win.
All the runs came off reliever Brett Lawson.
Josh Garton and Sean Reilly homered for Guelph, with Garton having three of the Royals' eight hits in the game.
Saturday against London, the Majors scored three in the top of the fifth inning, with the eventual winning run coming home on a fielder's choice.
Guelph had eight hits in the game, three of them by Darius Barlas.
The Royals play four times this week: Tuesday at home against Barrie, Thursday in Barrie, Saturday at home against Kitchener and Sunday in Brantford.
